Cecilia Babb
Ms Babb, an Associate of MHC, is a Gender Activist with 30+ year of activism in the field of Gender and Development. Her professional experience spans policy analysis, policy formulation, formal and non-formal lecturing and training, design of educational materials, research and advocacy. Her published chapters are on women’s political leadership, violence against women, and women’s economic security. Consultancy clients have included: Commonwealth Secretariat, UN Women (UNIFEM) Caribbean Office, OECS Commission (Secretariat), Caribbean Development Bank, Bureau of Women’s Affairs - Commonwealth of Dominica, Bureau of Gender Affairs – Barbados, and Institute (Center) for Gender and Development, UWI Cave Hill Campus. In 2012 she completed a Gender Analysis of 5 OECS Poverty Assessments (UN WOMEN Caribbean). She has completed a Gender Policy and Action Plan OECS Commission (Secretariat), and served as Lead Consultant, Barbados National Policy on Gender (BGA Barbados) and Gender Specialist, IMPACT Justice Project, Law Institute, UWI Cave Hill.
